Top Morning Nuggets For April
Becoming a CHAMPION OF LIFE, lets you excel on the playing field of life. A CHAMPION knows that how you interpret events will determine your future. This could be more important than what actually transpired. You can look at the event and play the victim. You can also experience the same event with grit and fortitude, and promise yourself that next time you will do things differently. Are you going to become that CHAMPION OF LIFE or fold and play the victim?
You may believe that you are sinking into the quicksand of life, but it is impossible to continue sinking when you ASK FOR HELP. A CHAMPION OF LIFE doesn’t hesitate to ask questions of others. Asking for help will always keep you afloat. Too many people have this thought that asking for help is a sign of weakness. It is not. It is actually a sign of strength. Now, someone may try to make fun of you for asking for help. That happened to me many years ago in my professional life. I was devastated. You know that jerk who said: I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT. Some wise person answered back for me and said to that person something to the effect: WHEN I NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING IN THE MOMENT AT THAT MOMENT, AND I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER, I ASK A QUESTION OR TWO THAT WILL MAKE ME WISER. WHAT DO YOU DO?
Progress requires these 5 things:
- 1. Be alert to new opportunities.
- If you don’t know something, ask the question or find the answer.
- Listen more.
- Make things easy.
- 5. Treasure meaningful relationships.
- 6. Life is constant teamwork.
Too many people focus on safeguarding what they already have. When you are in safeguarding mode, you will miss opportunity after opportunity in your personal, family and business life . You can’t RED LIGHT things for long periods of time. Nor can you ignore the winds of change that are always present. Determining whether first mover advantage is appropriate or whether waiting until the market becomes more settled is something that always must be evaluated. Additionally, it is critical to be that CANARY IN THE COAL MINE to discover potential problems at their earliest moments. This is when they are easy to fix. When you are safeguarding, you may as well be secluded in a windowless room, with no communication to the outside world. You will remain ignorant to events that impact you.
Graduating from the SCHOOL OF ADVERSITY is crucial for success. You can either become the victim and display a defeatist, “I CAN’T” attitude or you can choose light over darkness and see slivers of opportunity that will propel your “I CAN”, “NEXT TIME I WILL” attitude to a future filled with hope.
